butterfly pl*co???
sorry i don't have a picture but wonder if someone could help me!!!!
i bought a tiny plec at the lfs.....about 2 inches, light brown, and rather a round, not pinted snout...when on the glass, his shoulder fins???? (sorry i don't know what else to callthem) flare up, forming a CIRCLE around his head??? lacy and pretty but doesn't look at all like the "butterfly pleco" in the cat-e-log here??? he is very active and i like him to death, but wish i knew what he was.....anyone???

He is probably a hill stream loach. You can find more information about him at http://www.loaches.com. They actually aren't a pleco at all. They're neat little fish that like well oxygenated water with some current, IME. Hope that helps

The Marts around where I live are currently selling
these fish as "vampire plecostomous," which is,
at the least, false advertising. I paid my bi-weekly
visit to the customer service department to ask
them to correct the identification.
I brought three home, after waiting nearly 45 minutes
for the salesperson to catch them! They didn't want
to let go of the glass.
