Re: Castleford Aquarist Society Auction 20/04/11
Despite a low turn out, no doubt due to Easter hols, it was still a good night at the CAS auction with lots of bargains to be had.
Prices were ridiculously low and I was a bit embarrassed to pick up zebra otocinclus for £4, a stunning LDA01 male for £10 and a big Chaca chaca for only £4 (at least £30 plus in shops)! I also got a pair of Tatia perugiae for £7. I know Rich took a list of what went out so he'll no doubt fill you on the details. A few of the others included Peckoltia compta adult male at £10, L066 at £5 and a big pair of Hypoptopoma at £4 each. If you like unusual cats and want to get a bargain you really need to make the effort to get to a CAS auction.
Thanks to Steve and Wayne for picking me up and helping me bag fish for sale, following an accident I had at the weekend.
Cheers,
Mark.

It was indeed a lower turnout than the previous 2 times i've attended (i was worries i wouldn't get a seat as i drove up North!). This did allow a few more lengthy conversations and even better bargains than before!!!!!
I really would urge people who are able to go to attend - it is well worth it - where else can you get a 4" Syno pleurops for less than a pint of guinness!!!!!
Anyway, although i was busy chatting and missed a few final bids, the fish on offer went something like this.....(not sure on the spelling of some fish)
Syno Pleurops £2.00
Limia Perugaie (livebearer) group of 2.20
Pair swords 1.00

There was also a range of foods, bogwood, equipment etc as usual.
Again, it was great to catch up with a few "PC-ers" and (by now) familiar faces - i even managed to get most of the way without looking at directions.
C'mon people, if you want a bargain or three, make the effort to attend the next one (but please don't bid against me!!!) LOL
