I was cleaning my tank last night and noticed that my L260 had hydra like parasites attatched to different parts of its body. Anyone know what its caused by and what and how its treated?
I did a large water change last night and threw a hand full of aquarium salt. This morning and literally took the fish out and fed them metronidazole.
I havent introduced new fish in the aquarium in a long time and I do weekly water changes.
The only ones that are affected are the 2 L260s and a LDA08. I had other younger fries that were in a fry trap and seemed unaffected. I also have 4 large discus that seems to be fine.
Its a 40 gallon tank filtered by 2 large powerheads. I dont have a test kit with me right now so I don tknow the exact parameters. BUt the tds is in the 300s and ph is in the high 6. This is all I know for now.
Please give me some inputs on this.
Thanks
what kind of parasite is this?
