Should i keep a Lima Shovelnose with checkerboard barbs and neon tetras. I dont want the little fish to be eaten but i want to get my Lima out of the 10 gallon and hopefully big enough to be able to go in a 55 gallon.

Shovelnose shouldn't be kept with barbs and tetras as they will most likely be food. What do you mean "hopefully big enough to be able to go in a 55 gallon"? A 55 Gallon is the smallest you should put him into to start with regardless of what size he is now. He will no doubt appreciate the extra space. Good luck!
