raphael and furan2

Post by oscar2001 »

G`day

A friend of mine has a Raphael and a severum, the severum is sick with HITH(hole in the head and lateral line errosion). She has exhasted the natural way to treat hith and suspects heximata has taken hold. She would like to try a treatment with furan2(metrondizondle isnt avaible to her) and wondered how the raphael would react to that particular med..
I have been told that raphaels do tollerate a lot of meds but still want to find out from people who know better..

Any help would be great :D

thanks

Hi there,
Raphael cats are very hardy indeed, and, more interestingly, not liable to obtain the HITH-disease. While the C*****ds may drop dead one after another, catfishes will just do their thing as usual. So in this case the cure may be worse than the disease itself.
I can give no guarantees, but I think Raphaels are strong enough to survive medications. However, keep observing and in case of anything odd in its behaviour (for example when it starts to swim restlessly during daytime and/or the barbels get curly and weak) put it in another clean water environment (because you can't stop treating the Severum).
Good luck.
