Raphaels Tail

Well Today while i was moving some driftwood i found My Raphael Cat and confirmed that he is still inside My tank and alive. I was looking at him to make sure he was ok and i noticed his tail looked odd. Instead of having a curvy tail His was completely flat. I immediately though fin rot or fin nipping but when i looked at it it was almost completely Flat like it was cut off or something.Any idea as to what have cause this. He is back under a log so I dont know if i can get him out or not to take another look. O by the way he is a little over 2 inches.
