Cephalosilurus nigricaudus

Post by Richie »

Hi,
I cannot seem to find any info on these guys, there is a bit on Fishbase but not much.
What I am really looking for is personal experience if any one has any of this fish.

Many thanks

I would say that you can use the information found in the Cat-eLog for the other two species of Cephalosilurus.

Aside from the size, it's probably fair to say that the this species and the ones described in the Cat-eLog are similar.

It's almost certainly a case of "species only" for this one...

That's a shame. I wanted to put him in with a few larger fish such as polypterus, Tigers and Cichla.

Thanks for the info.

I keep mine with a dorado. As long as the cat doesn't think the tankmates will fit in his mouth, you should be OK. Notice I said "think" and not actually fit. Sometimes their eyes are larger than their stomachs!
