I have a pair of fish that have been spawning like crazy. They have 2 batches of young out of the cave and are working on batch #3 in the last 4 months.... Here is a pic of the male. The female has the same tail and the same basic pattern. They are more of a very light white/gray on black or very deep brown, than a gold line on dark brown. I'd like to know how many kinds of L333 there are? I was told by one, that they are probably a L333 alanquer (please forgive me if the spelling is incorrect!!!). I'm questioning if these fish are a cross at this point since all of the fry have more of a lyretail appearance. The young are growing at an amazing speed and are beautiful fish!! All of the L333s I have are wild caught fish. As much as I enjoy the plecos, it is VERY confusing! Thanks in advance for any information.
It looks like L333 H. sp "alenquer" and if the female looks like him you dont need to feel worried, youngsters have much more of a lyretail fin then the adults.
