Hi !

Mine is
The fish looks slightly different in terms of coloration, but they looks to be the same species.
The specimen in my picture in certainly a female while the one in aquabid seems to be a male

Regarding the adult size, they can reach 20cm

The specimen in my picture was caught in the Rio Negro in the region of Barcelos

Nice fish, which I like a lot, I have been looking for some of these around here but since they aren't much attractive compare to many other Loricariidae, I have never seen one in shop here...

Cheers

I'm SO sorry for the bad pics (I didn't take them) but here is the actual fish and I find it quite attractive....

This was bought at a LPS here but I don't know which one. The person has had her (think it's a she) for a couple years and when he got her, she was only about 2 inches long. Thanks for the info! I am going to get the fish, just trying to find something to trade it for, they want a newer smaller pleco. Think one of my bristlenose might find a new home soon.

Hi!

Sorry to tell you that your is not Dekeyseria scaphirhyncha, but it is some sort of Hypostomus or Liposarcus...

Cheers

Yann, do NOT be sorry! I didn't know exactly what it looked like till I downloaded the pics, just the head looked so similar on my camera to your avtar. The closer pics of the fish are all very blurry. What struck me is the color and how 'flat' it looks on some of the other really bad photos I got from the guy. The fish is 8+ inches, I was just hoping that might be as big as it gets. I know some turn into monsters!

Would anyone know exactly what kind this fish is and how big it's going to get? It appears to have quite a bit of rusty red to it and it's a very pretty marbley patterned fish (I know that could change too with size/age).

Thanks a BUNCH for the help!

Regarding the size, pretty likely around 30-40 cm adult!
I am pretty much conviced it is a Liposarcus, but a side shot of the fish with raised dorsal fin would be ideal to confirm!!

Cheers
