Problems with "unread" markings...

Post by MatsP »

It seems that any post that I have read since last time I logged out are still marked as unread

I mean on new posts, posts that I've read previously and re-read I'm sure will be marked as read.

I'm not sure if this is actually a bug in PC, in firefox or something else...

I have Cookies enabled - anything else I need to set so that PC will remember what I've read and what I haven't.

The strange thing is that it manages to work when I do "Mark all as read" in each forum. But just reading the forum itself doesn't mark the posts as read.

I think this is probably a "feature" in Firefox 1.5. 1.5 introduced much more aggressive caching, which makes going back/forward faster, but also makes th little status images stay the same.

If you have the web developer extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/m ... .php?id=60) installed, try disablnig the cache and see if the problem still appears.

I shut down Firefox completely and restarted it, it seems to have fixed the problem. It may be that I've had more than one tab open on PC at once and it got confused at some point - let's call it closed for the time being...

[I've previously just closed the PC tab in Firefox, which didn't help.]
