Compared to Corydoras Aenus, how difficult is Cory. Panda?

Post by Sasan »

I would like to try something else then Aenus, and the Cory. Panda caught my attention.

Compared to C. Aenus, how difficult is C.Panda and if i want to breed the Pandas, are they as easy as the Aenus, if not, do you have any advice to share me?

I can't comment on C. schwartzi, however C. panda are about as easy as they come. They rarely eat the eggs, but will eat fry.

Thats ok, ill probably will remove the egg in a small egg tank inside the main tank, and raise the fry on artemia.

So, i'll think ill buy the panda, see how it goes, and buy the swarshit when i feel like my tank may manage it.

I think C. aeneus and paleatus are the easier to breed, and the third is C. panda.

Good luck on the C. panda's. I have noticed that mine lay a lot more eggs at 20-21 degrees celcius than at 24-25 degrees celcius. However, they are easy :-)

If you want to try a very easy species, possibly the easiest of all Corys and one that does not take up a lot of space try C. pygmaeus. They are so easy I have actually seen them spawning in a bag at a CSG Group auction. A 2 or 3 gallon tank would comfortably house a breeding group of 6.

C. pygmaeus

The easiest of all cories to breed is the Corydoras pygmaeus and the Corydoras habrosis. I'm still awaiting the Corydoras hastatus to mature..their close, but not yet.

Aspidoras are not too hard to breed either...

Thanks,

Scott
