These fish are omnivores. I have a pair that enjoy zucchini, Hikari Algae wafers, and Hikari frozen bloodworms. I have tried cucumber without success.

My fish never eat when I am present. Whenever they see someone, they hide somewhere. I think these fish are just very shy. Try feeding them at night when the lights are off. Often I put some zucchini in the tank at night and in the morning the zucchini is all marked up. They like to eat the peel (fiber). Also, try feeding them bloodworms at night. Hope this helps.

Mine seems to have taken a liking to Spinach. Also eats carnivore wafers, algae wafers, romaine lettuce, bloodworms and brine shrimp. For the first few weeks he wouldn't eat anything but bloodwrms.
