Hello again :D i was on this forum about 2 years ago and im back 2 tanks later.
Right my question; im sdetting up a mbuna tank with haps' en so on and i was ondrin wat cats to keep sydont' or alough its not keepin wit da theme plec :?:

Mbuna's eat a fairly veggie diet; so you're best keep the "grazing" species of Riftlake Syno's; petricola, 'petricola dwarf' and "polli White Zambia" will do best. the last one's usually sold as the real polli, because the true S polli is quite rare in captivity.


species like multipunctatus, granulosus, njassae etc need more proteins.

as for plecs; any species bred in captivity will do better at adapting to the waterparameters and the Mbuna.
Bristlenoses (Common, albino and L144) are the best, but if your tank is roomy Gibby's or Commnon plecs are also suitable.
