This yearâ??s aquarium symposium will be held during the weekend 29th and 30th of October at the Linne hotel situated between Bjerke and Linderud. There will be lectures, a quality auction and plenty of time to mingle among fellow hobbyists. There will be a dinner and party Saturday afternoon.

This yearâ??s speakers are

Ivar Bernhardsen:

Ivar have been the leader of our club for several years and have long experience in breeding Corydoras species and he will speak about his experience in this field.

Harro Hieronimus:

Harro have been the leader of the German association for livebearers since 1992. He have been on several expeditions to study fish in its natural habitat in Mexico. He is also the founder of the International rainbowfish society, established in 1986. He has written several books about livebearers and rainbowfish.

Livebearers: Guppies, Platyâ??s, swordtails and mollies are species you probably know. However, did you know that there are more than 250 different livebearers? He will show you some you some representative species tell you how to keep and breed them and tell you why keeping them often can be a greater challenge than you imagined.

Rainbowfish: The Jewels of the 5th continent. Australia and New Guinea is the home waters of these fishes. They are easy to breed and simple to keep, you can look forward to Harros description of how to deal with these fishes and where to get them.

Shane Linder:
Shane originates from USA but he live in Mexico now. Shane is very well known from the part of Planet Catfish known as Shanes world. He will speak about â?¦. Catfish.

Four years searching for fish in South America have given him a lot of knowledge; two lectures about the highlights from his expeditions searching for catfish in Venezuela, Columbia, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru are planned. i can add that we did not just hire their biggest suites in the hotel to have good nachspiels in, we hired all the rooms under, over and around the suites so as not to have any complaints.

The social part of it is as important as the speakers - so we went ahead and got us both :)

Medaka,
We will not be far from you guys. Why don't you get a UK group together to come? Talk to Ian. He is such a good organizer he could herd cats.

Sorry Shane,

Cannot make this one, I am in Michigan the week before and I don't think her indoors would be too pleased, but I am also in Norway for the Catfish group in November so hopefully i will meet up with a lot of old friends then.

Sadly although I would like to attend this convention, I am awaiting a hospital appointment. So I couldnâ??t commit myself to this type travel etc, even if a trip could have been arranged :( But I am sure that it will be a huge sucess tup
