We bought 2 a few months back, they have thrived and are great little characters, so we got another 2 on saturday, they are in with tetras, otos a pl*c and a few corys, so all pretty peaceful fish, well there only seems to be 3 in there, one has disapeared!?
My husband has had a good look around but its just gone
any ideas? theres no body parts floating around either!
I guess ill just keep an eye out for it, i just dont see why it wouldnt have come out for feeding if it was still alive in the tank, which makes me think its not alive
Do you have any resin ornaments/caves in your tank? Loaches love to wedge into tight spaces. I lost two very small clowns that wedged into the folds on the interior of a resin cave and couldn't get out.

hi, like kate said do you have anywhere it could be hiding out? i have 10 of all size's and my girlfriend feed's them by hand . Have you got any bog wood in there? cos my small one's hide in all sort's of place's. The only other thing i can think of is he died and the otto's and pleco have made short work of him . Good luck with them and as MDOU said the thrive in group's of 6 or more.

Put me dinner in the oven, im off to the Xingu!!!.
Clown Loaches are the magicians of the fish world. When I first got mine I noticed one was missing and deconstructed the entire tank before finally , as a last resort , breaking one of my decorations in pieces , only to discover the little bugger had gone throughout the entire maze ( it was a plastic rock formation , quite complex , quite expensive ) and ended up at the end of the line . He was fine and has had no problems in the two years since . They can be very confused and shy when first moved so your story doesnt surprise me . Keep looking in the tank and decor , because it is truly amazing how small an opening these guys can get into . I hope you find him because they are , once settled into their home , one of the most entertaining and whimsical creatures and well worth any hassles they may present .
