Hi,
I think its from Rio Tocantins or Xingu.
I also think its a male and would kike to try breeding him if I can find him a female, only thing is that without Knowing what I'm trying to find I will never find her.

Please let me know if I'm wrong and preferably an L Number so I can make sure I get the right thing.
He's so spikey he looks furry, great little fish.

I think this is there are a great variety in the pattern in these species, exporters sometimes mix them with other Peckoltia species but so far there are only one from Rio xingu L015 P. vittata. You have a male and when you look for females, just pic the ones that look plump and without odontodes on the body and they will soon breed.

Thanks, link was usefull but I don't think thats what it is.
L80 link that you suggested pointed me in the direction of L038 which I now think it could be. This looks like a match.

What do you think?
Does anyone agree?
Barry.

I will keep my eye out for 38's on any lists I get. it shouldn't take to long to get some more. Hopefully if I order 5 I should get to choose him a nice mate.
Do you recommend more than 1 female?
I have a 60cm/70L tank for this project.

Hi
I have decided on these being L038 as L080 is much more expensive on the wholesale list and couldn't possibly be as cheap (rrp.) as mine.
I am expecting 5 more to turn up wednesday so i can pick a female or 2 for the fuzzy guy. I have got a 2 foot (Rekord 70) tank ready for them complete with broken up flower pots (really cheap from asda 5 for £1.38). I have also put an 18" piece of bogwood in that is smoothered in Java Fern (but thats for my benifit, I don't like that clinical look.
Is there anything special I can do for them, like temp, hardness, ph?
I got a pm from someone asking about availability and price but didn't have time to reply and lost the message please try again and I'll get back to you.

Most garden centers will give away broken bits of pots. So next time you need broken up flower pots, pass the garden center. One of my local ones have a big bucket (or some such) full of broken pots, just pick as much as you like and walk out without paying a penny. Of course, you don't ALWAYS find nice pieces that are the shape you want...fishmadbarry wrote:Hi

Of course, if your garden centre doesn't have the "broken pots bin", you can usually find a few broken ones on the floor or whatever, and if you ask someone in the staff, they will usually be very happy to have it taken away... My fiancee has got a whole bunch of really nice, large pots that have a bit broken off. Use them for "artistic" planting with alpines and that sort of thing.

The one place has no idea what an aqua log or "L" list even is ....she asked her supplier and they didnt even know... Im soo bummed, I will probly never be able to get some of them. You just ordered them as L038's? or by a name?

I ordered them as L038, I'm just a bit gutted that they are all male and i have to re-order to try and get females. I thought ordering 5 would give me good odds of getting at least 1 female, now it will be 2.5 weeks till I can get some more.
