Red spots on pygmy cory? :/

Post by silicagel »

Hello, I have a pygmy cory with a red swelling covering a "blow hole" and a few(3 or so) red spots on it's lower body which appear to be under the skin. The behavior of the fish seems normal enough, but I'm still unsure what the problem is. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I ma not sure without seing the fish but red blotches on the body is usually a bacterial infection that is contagious.

Is it possible for You to post a picture of the fish mentioned?

Without seeing the problem and info on your waterparameters, I think a good advice is always to improve hygiene and do more frequent waterchanges. Cories are very hardy, and giving the right conditions, they rarely get sick.
