Thnks to Jools, I know now, I have a cory in my tank that listens to the name C121.
Is there anyone who has these cory's and what are your experiences?

Hello Ibo!
I am currently keeping three pair of C121. It took me some time to find the right water chemistry for them and in the end they seem to prefer something on the harder/alkaline side of neutral.
They spawn regularly (large eggs, scattered), but 8 of 10 eggs are infertile (looks like they have an air bubble in them-from all three females)
and the 9th funguses before I can harvest. Needless to say, I have very few fry.

I find it a particularly beautiful fish with all the best markings from adolphoi, burgessi and duplicareus...along with its own unique "Black Cheek mark".

Are you'r C121's straight from the wild?

And what parameters do you have when you want them to spawn?
temp, pH, etc.

And what kind of food do you offer them?

IBO,
The water chemistry isn't critical. Just stay away from soft, acidic water. Keep it 78 degrees or less.

They'll eat anything, like most Corydoras.

After I got the water chemistry right and was sure they were large/old enough to spawn, I triggered them with the classic fresh/cold water changes for 4 consecutive days. They spawned 2 days after I stopped and have continued ever since, sporadically. I've moved them too and only interrupted their pattern.

Churchie,
I don't mean to challenge you, but that fish does not look like my C121.

1) There is no black in the dorsal. Mine have nearly complete black dorsal fins.
2) I realize the black cheek spot is variable, but I don't see it at all in your pic.
3) The back back strap on my fish is as wide as it typically is in duplicareus...nearly twice as wide as the black back strap in your pics.

Some of these items may be simple variations, but to have this big a discrepancy on all three points leaves me scratching my head.

That is my opinion.

The pic doesnÂ´t look like my c121Â´s I donÂ´t know how they look when they are in the juvenile stadium. They more or less look like AdolfoiÂ´s.

I don't know what you posted the first time (and the pic is now gone, replaced by your new one) but they weren't C121. Your "Breeding Team" certainly is!

I'm sorry, Churchie1, but those 15 week old fish are not C121...or not from a spawn of both male and female C121.
I have 8 week old fry that have a black dorsal, just like their parents. Yours do not.

Any possibility that you have another (contaminant)species in with your adults? ...or another adult group that may have produced these fish?

That is my opinion.

wow kevin.. congrats on spawning C121.. i did at one time have two of these fish.. but thye did not ship well and lost them both...

but hope to try to find them again in the future. kepp on with your continued success with breeding these guys and maybe u can start to get some fry out into the hobby to others that like these fish. as for the low fertility.. it should increase with time...

Hello!

I'm breeding C121, too.
More than one year they did nothing, but in novembre last year they started and are not stopping up to now. Every one or two weeks they're producing eggs. Up to now i think i have about 80 young C121. 50% of the eggs are infertile. For water chemistry i do not agree with Kevin. Here they started to spawn when i've used very soft water (< 20uS), but i've done nothing with the temperature, it's constant 25Â°C.
