120 Gallon tank and a Shovelnose?
120 Gallon tank and a Shovelnose?
Hi,
Just wondering what you experianced catfish owners think of keeping a shovelnose in a 120 gallon tank? (60" long, 25" high, 22" wide IIRC)
He'd be staying with 3 tin foils and an oscar. all would be aprox the same size.
Tank is moderatly planted, some rocky hide outs and I'll be getting a nice piece of "rooted" type driftwood for hiding.
Filtering right now is 2 Emperor 400s and I'm thinking of getting a powerhead for more circulation and a Fluval 404 canister for extra cleaning.
so...what are yalls thoughts? any advice?
Thanks,
Bart

when you say shovelnose do you mean a lima shovelnose (sourbim lima) or tiger shovelnose (Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum). the lima shovelnose would be fine but the tiger shovelnose would outgrow that tank. also if you want to get a lima shovelnose these do best in groups so i would recomend getting 2 or 3 in that tank.
