Sexing C.Schwartzi

Post by Aquamick »

I have a group of six C.Schwartzi in my community tank, and i wondered if anybody has any tips on sexing them. Is this one of the species that shows dimorphism in the ventral fin shape? It's hard to tell with my group as they allways hide under a bank of dense planting, and i can't see the body shape from above. Thanks in advance :) .

Aquamick,

All the relevant pointers you need to sex your C. schwartzi are in the first post on this forum and if you cannot see them well enough in the set up they are in then, the best way to to asses your fish would be to catch them and put them in a small plain tank so you can see clearly all the relevant points.

Thanks, Coryman. I have a spare 15 litre i can move them to for a while, so it'll be easier to see them from above.

C. schwatrzi are not the easiest Cory to sex so being able to look at them from all angles will give you the best chance.
