YAY finally my bristlenoses bred

Post by micahgee »

After many months of waiting and waiting and some more waiting, my pair of bristlenoses spawned. I didnt realize how quick the fry grow becoming free swiming in less than a week! When I have bred cyprinids and a few different species of rainbows, it takes many many weeks to even to be able to see the fry let alone develop adult shape and fins. Interestingly the eggs were laid on the ceiling of a clay pot, Im curious how eggs would stick to the top of it, and how the female lays a compact patch of eggs upside down!?! And my lord is the male a good father, nearly uhhh...rasping my finger off! All in all I love the lil bristles and their darting around the tank...
