Eheim 2026 cannister filter
power head with filter attachment
150 watt heater
The Tank conditions:
PH: 6.2

Nitrite:0
Nitrate:20
KH:2dkh
GH:4dgh
Temp:73F
Fish Load: 8 Barbatus Corys
The Problem:
Female Barbatus Cory has fin rot on her dorsal fin. I've never had a problem of this sort with a Cory and am not sure how to procede. I live in the DC- Baltimore area and any medication that anyone could recommend should be readily available. I have a 10g tank I can use as a hospital tank, spare heater, small power filter etc. All of her tank mates are fine. Thanks in advance.

The biggest problem people have with C. barbatus is they keep them too warm and in doing so they are more susceptible to stress. I would advise moving all the C. barbatus to a tank of their own unless the other tank mates are tolerant of lower temperatures (68ºF - 70ºF).
The female with the fin rot, I would treat by painting the infected area with Methylene Blue rather than treating the whole tank. Although you may prefer to treat the whole tank, in this case I would use a propriety treatment which your LFS should be able to advise on and supply.
