blue eyed bruno L 137

Post by bngowe »

was just wondering a little bite about
the Rusty/ bruno pleco(L137).
I've seen it here on PLanetcatfish pictures with blue eyes
as well as some without. Is this by region, or does
the blue fade with age?

I've always wanted a blue eyed panaque, but its so
hard to find. This might be an alternative. Are L137
easier to obtain?

Hi!

Cant say much about the US but here the L137 blue eye is available quite often for around 2-2.5 euros per cm/fish. The brown eye comes from Rio Paraguay drainage and is a different fish (DATZ thinks its not Cochliodon cochliodon but J Armbruster ided mine via photo to be H.cochliodon as he puts it). Blue eyes come from Rio Tapajos and i think i read in a german forum that an importer posted that they sometimes come in with brown eyes which turn blue with time.
Nice fish although they produce lots of waste and kill all plants. I have 2.
cheers

OHh thanks for the reply :D So brown to blue..would also mean that blue would fade to brown too right? Anyone in the US have this Blue eyed bruno? how much did you purchase it for and is it easy to obtain?

Fairly easy to obtain.

Click on the pleco link and they're listed under L-137
2.5 inches total length and looks just like the pic on the site.
I ordered one last week and he came in today. So far so good.
He's a blue-eyed and super cute. :D
