The toil of all that be helps not the primal fault
it rains into the sea, and still the sea is salt

Banjo cats do not produce much mucus for a catfish.

I saw some of these guys at a PetsMart too.....was debating on buying 1 or 2 for my 20 gallon tank. But the idea of them freaking out, as per the Cat-E-Loh suggests, and killing all my fish, is somewhat of an alarm....I also hear-read that when they die, their bodies release toxins that can harm other fish?
But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I will be unique in all the world..... You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

I think you are confusing regular banjos (Bunocephalus) with Asian banjkos (Acrochordonichthys). Only the latter produce the secretions that kill other fish (and even then, only under great stress).
Regular banjos don't secrete anything, even when greatly disturbed.
