Coaxing Butterflies

Post by azn_phil »

I'm not sure but my L052's are really picky eaters, refusing shrimp pellets and "fish meal" algae wafers (low quality algae wafers). I kno they are vegetarians, but i'm just experimenting with the diet. I bought some Sera brand 20% spirulina sinking tablets, and i THINK they are eating them but i still see some leftovers. I feed them once in morning and once at night. Also with the diet are lettuce and zuchhinni, but i think they like to rasp at the surface and not eat it probably they are still hard in the water and havn't soften yet.

1. I always check their bellies. Some are full (well just flat and not sunken). Some are SLIGHTLY sunken in, but not severe. There is new poo everyday. Anyway my question is in this species do they tend NOT to have round full bellies, because of their flat profile? Is a flat belly (i mean really flat) good enough?

2. Should i bother with bloodworms/brine shrimp? Anyone have experience in keeping this species (butterfly plecos) please tell me how their bellies are? hehe
