Dwarf moth/stonecat tank?

Hello, I am mainly a South American catfish keeper and personally I have never actually kept an Asian catfish. I have recently fallen in love with these small
Asian stone mini catfish/moth catfish/anchor catfish. I have a non-aggressive male betta-fish,( Most non-aggressive betta in the world!!!) and am upgrading his tank size to a 7 gallon trapezoid, I have heard that non-aggressive betta's can be very peaceful with other fish. The dwarf moth catfish and by betta have overlapping temperature ranges. They are rated to be very peaceful catfish and my betta would most likely not even notice them. I have heard these fish are kind of shy, is this true? Would a small clear tube be a good hiding place (so I can see them all the time?) Has anyone ever kept these, and would you recommend them? My filter would be a Fluval 107 since I am planning on buying 6 of them. Do you feel this is adequate? Thoughts? I will most likely also post this on MFK.

No matter what decor you give they'll choose a hiding place to their own liking.Sometimes they can even bury under the substrate. Add a big group, also they are very much dependent on live foods.

I wouldn't say that they're shy in that they actively hide. Instead, they're just not particularly out going. In my experience they don't hide in caves, so the clear tube would be unnecessary, but they do seem to be fond of plants.

And if you can get them mosquito larva, and even the pupa, they are certainly fun to watch with their derpy antics...

As far as I'm aware, they never bred, but they were always in community tanks so if there were ever any eggs or fry they were quickly eaten.

They're definitely on my short list of fish to do a species only tank for and try to breed, on the someday that I move into a bigger house and can do a fish room.

My LFS has a supply of these lately and they are so tempting to grab a half dozen. Only a few $ each. But I've got no tanks, even for them.

Yes they are tempting, none of this seems to steer me away from them. This setup and the fish wont cost too much. The fish I ran into the other day was very small, just out of the fry stage ~1/6"!!! all the other fish I have seen were at least half an inch!
