What species is this

Post by Knotted pumpkin »

Good morning everyone

Got given a catfish by my local store, they were given it to rehome. They don't know what it is.

I know that the photo is not great.

Thanks

Would say closer to due to the pattern not being clearly spotted?

Agree with Jools. Most definitely a blochii if it has a black / dark spot in front / base of the dorsal fin.

I don't think it blochii Fish. It's from any unique group.

Hi jonathanwhite11,

Welcome to the site. Given this was your first post and it doesn't make sense, it looks a lot like content spam. In this case, we ask the new arrival for more info. Please could you help us by expand on why you think as you do?

Cheers,

Unless anyone else has any thoughts, I'm going to stick with the concensus that my catfish is a blochii.

The second pic removes any doubt. It's a blochii.
