Megalechis thoracata or picta?
Unlabeled Megalechis popped up today at the shop so I snatched it up. Initially thought it was Megalechis thoracata but now that its settled I'm unsure. Theres definitely a band on the tail. Hes getting dewormed rn so pics not the best. Anyone familiar with this genus want to weigh in on his body condition? He seems a bit thin to me but that's compared to my hoplosternum littorale.

Thank you, I was fairly confident it was picta and hes gotten even bolder since hes been in the tank. Gotta go grab the rest of em out of their feeder tank I suppose. Any reason I cant mix em with my hoplosternum after QT?

No, they are bigger/more robust, but still more or less a good mix.
