Well they are at it again :)

Post by Berger »

Woke up this morning to find that our heater in the house was not working. Not cool since todays high is suppose to be -5. But the repair man came early and got everything fixed. And in that time I noticed my aenus were spawning again.(They had done this before christmas break, but none of them made it)

I hadn't done the usual cold water changed, but we have had cold temps around here so thats probably what triggered them.

The nice thing is now my 5g tank is nicely planted complete with Java moss. And I won't be going on break for months. So I should hopefully have some little cories in the near future. :) I have a total of 18 eggs so far..and I just fed all the fish in my 30g so that they won't eat any other eggs that get produced..Last time the had atleast twice as many..so heres to hoping

Oh ya, has anyone noticed an egg laying preference? Last time they laid the eggs on the right side on the amazon sword. But the amazon sword moved to the left this time...but they are still laying eggs on the right side...we'll see if they continue this

Depends on the tank for me. One of my female aeneus just laid another 120+ eggs, and like last time she spread them all over. In my community tanks I notice The eggs are laid where they spend most of their time normally.
