I need help identifying a growth on my common pleco (next to his dorsal fin).
It started out as a small red spot, which erupted into a small blister or bubble-like growth. This then developed multiple jelly-like bubbles, one of which has a neck.
Lymphocystis??
Digenean trematodes??

12” long

Water parameters
Used Softened water for years without issues
Now using Well water. (Switched in March)
KH high (above 214.8ppm according to API chart)
pH high (8.2)
ammonia 0.0
nitrites 0.0
nitrates 10.0
Softened water also high in pH and KH, but he adjusted to that and has always done well even in softened water.
In hospital tank since June 3.
Wound Control
Spectrogram
Metroplex
Little improvement AND I noticed three NEW growths today. Photo shows all three stages of growth—red spot, bubble, multiple bubbles.
Behavior is normal. Eating is normal.
When I touch the growth with a q-tip, he flinches. Doesn’t flinch when touched elsewhere.
Please, please advise.
Thank You!!
