Parancistrus aurantiacus "Xanto"
Hi everybody!
Thought it would be nice to share my breeding success of Parancistrus aurantiacus with you.
I bought my first two fish in March 2017. Sadly about 6 months later I lost one of them.. And so my search for more specimens continued and I found a nice group of 4 about the same size as my single fish at home. Again, I lost one of the fish in quarantine.
One of the females:
I ended up with a nice group of 3 females and 1 male.
Male & female:
It didn't take long before they started breeding:

Congratulations, they are really nice looking fish, I've not seen them in person yet.
I guess some of the eggs were kicked out too soon by the dad, given the picture of the eggs on the bottom of the tank? How did you raise those eggs?

I only feed Repashy, Soilent Green and Super Green mixed with a little bit of Morning Wood. And Bottom Scratcher and Grub Pie.
I raise the fry on the green formulas.

The fry are doing very well. No special care needed. Still feeding on Repashy herbivore formulas daily.
Some of the juveniles are turning colors. Not sure why but it is lasting, they have been like this for a month now.
