Happy New Year! Tonight I will stay up late and then sleep in! I have a four day weekend off from work, too, which is nice!

Hey, Flyinmike, it's neat to see you're from Fort Worth. My mom's from Saginaw. I've visited there and Fort Worth several times and it's nice to see a change from Alaska! :D

Happy New year, folks and fishes! El año dos mil y cuatro! Zweitausendundvier! Tweeduizendenvier! Totusenogfire! Tvåtusenochfyra! Twothousandandfour! Dois mil e quatro!

Let us hope for a good year! Remember to live not only for your goal of the future, but also for the path to get there; the path you are walking today!

For me, the year started with a parking fine, but the hangover wasnt bad, so I'm after all happy!

Best Fishes!

Well, I stayed up until 4 o´clock after watching a lot of fireworks (We´re quite fond of fireworks in Denmark - unfortunately three people got killed this year due to heavy fireworks), jumping into the new year from a couch, wearing my "beautiful" new year hat and throwing coins at each other.
Happy New Year! Godt Nytår!

You jump into the new year from a couch?! That's awesome! *L*

On January 1 my mom and I ate ham with black-eyed peas and collard greens to have a lucky new year! She told me it's something she used to always do in Texas. :D

Yep. . We jump. If you don´t jump into the new year, you´ll be stuck in the old. . that´s the Danes.

Goodness! So can you jump just anywhere or does it have to be from a couch? This is the neatest new year's thing I've heard yet!

Well. . it´s almost always from some sort of furniture. . But I´ve jumped from a car one year, when I wasen´t near a couch. The trick is to not jump from something too high. . You might fall, as Danes - just like Norwegians - drink a lot at New Years.
It´s never too late to jump into the new year. . think of all the years you´re stuck in. .

Well! I have 21 new years to jump into, so when I get off work I will go home and start jumping! I have a friend coming over for dinner tonight, so I better finish my jumping off the couch before then, otherwise she'll get weirded out and not eat with me. :D

I will definitely freak out my cat, the rats will regard me with interest, and the fish in the living room will not be happy from the floor being thumped.

definitely sounds texan, hehe. I can remember a few times when New Year's or just about any holiday involved beans, usually black eye peas, ham, and cornbread, lol.

I had an ok New Year's, I missed the countdown cause I got lost looking for my friend's house, go to the party, was kinda slow and several people were already passed out, lol.

the next day was cool though, I got my 55 gallon fish tank ;)

Mmmm...my mom makes the best cornbread! She uses white cornmeal instead of yellow. I love it! She also makes the best biscuits, but we call them "biskies."

Ooooh, that is so neat you got your 55 gallon tank! I am so jealous! Someday, when I am in a bigger place, I will have a large tank filled with catfish! :D
