First Cory... Help on specific diets!
I decided to add some corys to my already existing tank with guppies, danios and african dwarf frogs. The biggest problem I have is the best diet for a cory. I am unsure of what kind he is although he (or she) is spotted which doesn't help at all, hopefully I can post pictures of it later. Well the thing I need to know is the different foods that they can eat and the best to feed them. None of the fish in any of my tanks eat the same thing every day and I have a rotating schedule that I feed by. So I need a variaty of things that I can feed and how often to feed if any one could help.

Firstly forget the green stuff for Corys they are not vegetarians, what they need is a staple diet and a good quality flake or tablet food would suit. The flake should be dipped in the tank water before being released, this will ensure that it sinks to the bottom and the Cory's get their share. If you have only introduced one Cory then the amount of food you put into the tank for it will be very small, the food you are feeding the other tank mates will also fall to the bottom and may well be enough to sustain you Cory.

Longlivethestrange,
I feed my cories frozen beefheart/brine/daphnia/cyclops/and bloodworms. Brine shrimp pellets/algae wafers/freeze dried tubifex. But the absolute best food for conditioning breeders is Live Black Worms! I will soon be trying Ian's idea with the chopped up red worms...(I have 1,000 on the way). Cories aren't very fussy when it comes to diet. Variety is always the best.

Most of the foods I mentioned were frozen. You can get the live black worms from http://www.aquaticfoods.com
