Re: my L102
at 8/9 inches, I would tend to agree with the scobi id. L102 are listed at 6.3" max, so maybe 7"TL (with tail)
What's your favorite Dressing~~

Re: my L102
Perhaps you were told wrong and they erred with the ID. LFS such as Rare Aquatics are not perfect with their identification. They do err every now and then you know. These are 100% Scobis. I know a Scobi when I see one. These are three males. Take a close-up shot of their mouths and you'll see they are no Hypans. On the positive note, if you got them for L102 prices, you got a pretty good deal

Yes, they are ; I'm unaware of anything else like this that has the black edge to the unpaired fins.

Re: my L102
Do you? Good for you! Nothing personal but I see them as Scobis. Shape and size, off to be Hypans. Well, enjoy! Hope everything turns out nice. Good luck!

Re: my L102
so you keep saying but I know what they are so do many others for you to keep saying they are scobis is just unreal don't you like being wrong or something? The black seam on the caudal and dorsal fin is unique to the L102 the eyes are bigger than in L 48 the H. inspector It is one of the biggest hypans around.

Beautiful Hypancistrus inspector! Tough to find nowadays. Having kept this species I can say that you have some very nice specimens. They are easily the largest Hypancistrus that I have seen in the flesh. My big males were just under 8 inches TL. Again, beautiful hypans!

Beautiful fish
I know you don't have to prove anything but if you want to, you could always make a mouth shot. That way every one can see that they are Hypancistrus
Good luck with them!!
