Angelicus Pleco L#-????

Post by Triactis Trainer »

I have what i am to believe is an angelicus pleco that I picked up a few years ago. Just want another opinion on him/ her and would like to know the sex, max size, etc. and whatever I can to give him or her a happier future. http://imgur.com/a/kIhvI

Can you tell because of the blunt head and the roundish belly on her?

The interopercular odontodes are few, thick, and highly curved on this fish---typical of . A has thinner, longer, and more numerous odontodes.

Photos underwater would help.

Something on the back of my mind says Rio Tocantins but I couldn't tell you why.

It's definitely not Tocantins. To be honest, without more information about where it was collected and what the males look like, maybe even some nice clear side shots, ID is going to be difficult. It's one of the issues with plecos in general. There are so many that look similar from all over the place.
