Diving in Xingu

Awesome thread! I'm quite jealous of the OP. Swimming with the arowanas in SA is on my bucket list. I know arowanas aren't found in the Rio Xingu (or, not that I'm aware of), however, diving with all those cool L-numbers looks pretty great! Thanks for sharing.

when you have the oportunity to make pictures of these bueautifil Auchenipterid species, it would be very nice to place some pics of them in this thread.
It would give a more complete image of the under water fauna in that area.

I am curious regarding the zebras. Did you actually collect them your self? If so can you indicate at what depths and what sort of numbers you spotted while collecting them. Thanks.

In the 5th picture on page 1 there is a faint horizontal stripe pattern in the shadows. Now I initially thought this was a small H Zebra, but it could also be the nose of the A Rununculus.

i want to visit brazil for the gorgeous women, jiu jitsu and fish.. id probly never leave thou

my instructor goes home to fortaleza when he visits and has asked me if i wanted to go with.. how far is that from the rio xingu?

i think the OP stated that the book doesnt come out till march, probly why you cant find it yet.. also the cover looks like its in portuguese and english.. is the whole book bilingual as well?

I just registered on this Board, just to read and maybe discuss some Questions and Answers about L-46 and than I saw this thread.
I lost my heart5 to the Hypancistrus Zebra l46 and I have several Fishtanks where I breed them.
All I can say to this Fotos and Informations is:

what wonderful Pictures and what a feeling that must be, holding a selfcatched, wild l46 in the hand.
