Is this Pseudacanthicus sp 1
Hi guys,
I've had this guy from juv stage ( my mistake for not taking enough pictures when he's small ). The pics were from juv till quite recent.
Juv stage ( ~ end 2010 can't really remember )
Sub adult ( ~ mid 2011 )
Recent pics ( 2012 )

I would say its a Pseudacanthicus cf. leopardus, L114 with a special coloration.

How do you guys diff between sp1 and odd coloured 114 ??
I would like to know how to tell them apart?
Further details about this guy, I found him in a shipment of WC fishes from SA.

One has a beige base coloration an the other is darker. I don't have any location or other differentiating data.

I agree with the above poster. My gut tells me 114, but I agree the coloration isn't quite right..
Thanks, Josh

Hi guys thanks for the info.
I stumble upon another pc from my local shop. It's from another batch of WC 114s.
He stands out from all of the rest of the pack.

Nice Finds! I have seem similar variations in my fry but they usually have physical deformaties and I cull them. They tend to have a stubby nose, bent pectorials, or a deformed mouth. There might be a relationship between the two but there is not enough data to draw a conclusion. In my previous posts there are pictures of some with unique colors and patterns.

It's been 6+ years since I've gotten this guy. Updates from juv stage and sub adult stage.
Here's the most recent updates and he ( if I never mis-ided him ) has reach adulthood.
