catfish for 55 gal?

Post by ellagor »

I have a 55 gallon tank setup that currently contains a bristlenose pleco, a green severum and a blue acara and was wondering if there were any smaller to medium sized catfish that would do well in this tank setup. There are plenty of hiding spaces available, and the severum doesn't bother any of the fish in the tank.

Pimelodus pictus will be fine in there, the same goes for Megalechis ("Hoplosternum" or Kwi-kwi), Dianema (Porthole cat), Microglanis (SA Bumble Bee), Auchenipterichthys (Zamora-cat) or Brochis species, to name a few.
Or perhaps Amblydoras spp, medium small Pleco's, Agamyxis etc.
Choose a single species and get a small group, or a single loner.

Hoplo's, Brochis, Pim pictus, Zamora's, Dianema and Microglanis like groups, Dorads and Pleco's also do fine single.
Plan B should not automatically be twice as much explosives as Plan A
