I buy my frozen fish food in batches of 20 packets every few months.
The frozen fish food arrived today around 4pm practically thawed, and it was put straight into the freezer to re-freeze it.
But tonight there is a strong smell from the fish food in the freezer, not like it's went bad, it may even be the natural smell of the food, as i normally don't smell it because it normally arrives early and is still pretty frozen.
Is it alright to use the frozen food after refreezing it ?
And will the smell go away in the freezer once the food refreezes ?
Refreezing frozen fish food.

Re: Refreezing frozen fish food.
I'm pretty sure your food is spoiled and you shouldn't use it.

Re: Refreezing frozen fish food.
I would complain to the seller that it arrived defrosted.
I agree with Trent, it's ruined if it's defrosted. You know when you've defrosted a chicken, you wouldn't refreeze that, would you? Unless you cock it - but I doubt cooked frozen food would be good.
[Being very technical about it, I would concede that it does depend on the type of frozen food, how long it's been defrosted, and what fish you are feeding with it - but since I'm pretty sure you don't know how long it's been defrosted, I'd say it's probably gone bad!]
