would it be fine to keep 2 sun cats in a 100gal with some medium sized African OB peacocks??
ive kept a sun cat for about 2 1/2yr with an 12" oscar & 9" 4-line pim,
but im wondering if i two would do fine with medium sized(6" max) african cichlids????
Sun cats should grow to at least 12" - our Cat-eLog says 18". So no, it's not OK in a 100g tank, and I suspect your OB peacocks would become lunch at some point if the fish is kept in good enough conditions to reach its full potential size.
im not gonna keep them in the 100gal permanently. i want to upgrage to maybe atleast a 200 in a year or 2.
sun cats are real slow growers i know that. only about an 1 1/2 - 2" a year. im just want to know if its fine to keep them together??
South america has wrong water - so they would not combine. Asia - much of the same
Lake Malawi has - as far as I know - 1 species of synodontis, S nyassae, which is rare and expensive. However, Lake tanganjica has a few more species, which come from similar water and are used to riftlake cichlids
Also, most of Texas has hard/alkaline water, which suits fish from the Rift Lakes in Africa and the fish of Central America better than the soft/acidic water loving fish from South America and most of Asia.
