HELP HELP white spots

HELP HELP white spots

I have a oscar and a Asian Red Tailed Catfish and my oscar always breaks out wiht white spots, it happens at least once every 2 weeks and i dont know what to do, could it be ICH? Also is Ich like cotton fungus? Should I get rid of the oscar? Im just worried that my Asian red tailed cat(my pride and joy) is going to catch whatever the oscar has HELP HELP HELP

No it isn't. If your oscar is breaking out in white cottony growths, here is what I think is happening: the Asian RTC is beating up the oscar and the resulting wounds are getting infected with fungus.
If this is the case, it's an indication that it's no longer time for the RTC to have a tankmate.
If it is in fact ich, then read this post for treatment ideas.

i have a few fish that do that, it usually is a way of letting me know the water is not right, usually if i do a water change then it goes away

sand. might be a sign that something is wrong with you set up and i wouldn't ignore it too long.

Eric what size are the two species in question and how big is the tank? what do you intend to do with the asian RTC when it gets big?. oh yeah where is ct can you be more accurate.

yes magnum i figured out my undergravel is not working right so am going to fix that
