Red Lizard Pleco Gravid.
Red Lizard Pleco Gravid.
I have a dilemma. My Red Lizard pleco is currently housed with 2 males and 3 clown loaches. So I know for a fact that these loaches will scour the eggs. How should I go about breeding if it does occur?

Re: Red Lizard Pleco Gravid.
Hello,
Mine are housed with a couple swordtails and a lot of shrimp. The shrimp don't bother the eggs, but the swords do. The male is fairly successful about defending most of the spawn, but I have noticed that the swordtails get a bit heavier on the days I find eggs. I simply pull the cave, with the male inside, to another small tank hanging in the main tank. They normally hatch just find there and then I pull the male and cave back to the main tank for the next round. The fry need very, I stress VERY, clean conditions to survive. They don't appear to eat if there is any kind of bio layer on the tank walls or bottom. Therefore, I wipe their tank and siphon daily. They do fine as long as I do that for the first six weeks.

Impossible only means that somebody hasn't done it correctly yet.
