Petricola or Lucipinnis
I was sold these as Petricolas by a breeder. Can you tell from these photos?

I'm a little late to the party, however, I agree with Richard and Silurus. These look like S. lucipinnis. The spots on the body are too irregular in shape and size. You can't really see the anal fin too well in any of the pics or the fish are too small to see well, but in the S. petricola, the black part will be triangular shaped and all black--with no light part on the fin between the black part and the body. In S. lucipinnis, there will be a lighter part on the aspect of the anal fin closest to the abdomen. The black part won't be triangular shaped. Apologies for resurrecting this old thread, but I've been looking for Synodontis lucipinnins in Sydney (Australia) with no luck (and the OP's profile says Sydney).

Keep in mind as you are looking, what should be ....many people are still calling them petricola.So, does anyone know a breeder I can get in touch with for lucipinnis?
