How do you vent?

How do you vent?

I wasn't sure where to post this, figured this was as good a place as any.

Are there any good articles on venting with pictures? I have found written descriptions, but so far no pictures or even illustrations.

The specific cat I am trying to vent right now is a Synodontis eupterus. But I would like to learn this skill for future use, not only for cats, but my cichlids too.
