Just wanted to know for sure if that's what mine is - he displays very similar markings, except he doesn't have spots, per say, more of a "network" marking, except on the dorsal and caudal, where he has sort ofa striping. His tail is edged in orange/black rings, the rest of him is brown/lightbrown to white/brown network markings on belly. All the pics I've seen of the Punctatus seem to be spotted plecos - but I don't know if its common for them to "connect" to form the network markings I'm speaking of? Just curious - thanks!

Nope, Liposarcus pardalis. It has about 11 dorsal-fin rays (as far as I can tell from the photo), while Hypostomus will have only 7 or 8.
