L037

Post by Tom »

Would like more info on this Hypostomus - aggression, hardiness, diet, etc. It shows 10 people having it so hopefully I'll get some responses.

Thanks,
Tom

I don't own this fish, but I'd say we can get a fair ide just from knowing the genus, and reading the description: http://www.scielo.br/pdf/ni/v6n3/a12v6n3.pdf

It grows to a decent size, about 8" SL at least, so a total length of about 10"+.

The diet would be mostly vegetarian/aufwuchs.

Temperament I'd expect to be fairly docile.

And I also expect it to be a hardy fish - the fact that it's been collected in a wide variety of habitats is a good indicator for this, if nothing else.

Thanks for the reply. Kind of dissapointed, been over 2 days and the only response I get is from someone who doesn't own one. Oh well, guess I need more patience.

Take care,
Tom

Me too - Chrysichthys, Dave Rinaldo and Andy75 are all regular visitors to the forum. I could understand it if the names on the keepers list were all names that don't visit (or post on) the forum very often (or at all).

Hi Tom,

I do indeed have a female LO37, shes a big girl now and what i believe to be at fully grown, about 8 inches, im still looking for a male and maybe another female but havent seen any being sold since i got her which was about 2 years ago.

Mine is always out and about, she hides when i first put the lights on, but after that shes always out, ive never seen any agression towards any other fish and i have a few different plecs in with her.

Food wise, i always feed at night, but she eats a various of food. Potatoe, Algae wafers, Peas, I also give frozen prawns as well.

Hope this helps a little, If u want anymore info and i can help just let me know.
