L201 Hyp. Controden

Post by Boots n all »

l notice in the Cat-eLog that the L201 has lost the name Contraden and is now sp., why has that happened?

In the Breeding it states unreported, may l suggest that be changed to "Cave Breeder that does best as a group "

Thank you.

And what exactly is H. Inspector? I thought that was also L201. Is L201 sp the same fish as H. Inspector??
So very confusing....all those names for the same Lnumber

Please explain it to me

is L102. It used to be synonymized with L201 (that is, both L102 and L201 was believed to be the same species), but some 2-3 years ago, someone decided that they are not the same.

Ok, thanks Mats.
Seeing all 3 species and photo's My fish look exactly like L201 sp and fit the discription. Flat, not very big and spots are small and various. I also bought them as L201. Definatly not Contradens and they also don't look like Inspectors.

I've had 4 spawns of them now. Dad is a cave spawner. The baby's have very small spots, not like Contradens witch have rather large spots. I don't know if this is any help on the species L201 sp.

Jac,

I have submitted an update to indicate that they have been bred and do so in typical Hypancistrus way.
