Hastatus eye color

Hastatus eye color

Hi!

Listening to potter audiobook i had a long look in my girlfriends tank and a thing ive wondered about before came up again. Theres about 8 C.hastatus in there with a couple of them having completely black eyes, the others have a black center with silver surroundings.
Whats the reason for this difference?

The chances are the fish with the completely black eys are females and I can almost guarantee that the fish were or had just been spawning. As far as I know they are the only Cory's that show this trait.
