Re: whats everyones favorite pl*co?
I like several pecies of plecos, and several species of other fish. My favourites among plecos may be Pseudacanthicus sp. L25 and Baryancistrus demantoides. I have never had L25 because of its size and high price.

I like too many... but to name a few
Baryancistrus L018, Oligancistrus L020, Peckoltia vittata, Panaque L204, and Hypancistrus zebra (why is it so hard to get ahold of one of these... besides the importation laws of course).

Re: whats everyones favorite pl*co?
Easy, chaetostoma they are always out and about, no wait Panaque nigrolineatus, they look so comedy, or parancistrus nudiventris they are feisty little buggers, Zebras are so striking, ottos are nice in a big shoal.........oh dear it's so difficult.
I saw a big Megalancistrus parananus in Wharf aquatics once and it really was a nice looking fish, but £300, I don't think so.
I have an L350 thats a seriously cool but I havn't got a tank anywhere near big enough for him, hes always scooting around, like chaetostoma, which would be fine if he was small but hes about 10" now, he needs something about 8 ft long and lots 'o' current.
Plecos are fast becoming my favorite fish.

Plecofanatic1989 - zebras are not difficult to obtain (here in the uk) ifyou know where to look but they are still pricey!
I suspect it is similar elsewhere - if you wanted some, use the wanted forum & see if you get any takers

Hmmmmm. I never thought of that. I did find one place where I can buy them, but $160 each is a little out of my price range and I doubt that I can find them any cheaper. I'm gonna stick to my nuggets now and pray to find zebras someday

Re: whats everyones favorite pl*co?
I love my common pl*c. I think he is called a leopardus. After a year and a half with him and he's over 8 inches, he's graceful, peaceful...the clown loaches love him too as well as my cat. He's a joy to watch and worth the money for a 90 gal. tank bought cause of him...no regrets.

I'm very happy with my Pterogoblichthys punctatus - as hardy as gibbyceps, but half their size
fit for a 130 * 50 cm tank, regardless the other fish in it

Several species of pleco are beautiful and intresting.
But my favorits are L46 Zebra pleco,( I keep a group of 6) and also Panaque Maccus L104 ( I've got 3) because it's one of the smalliest panaque and is very peacefull.

Any Farlowella and P. maccus.
Farlowella because of their habits and interactions with each other.
P.maccus because of his face. Mine has recently learned to get this expression
Or maybe he's copying me.

Re: whats everyones favorite pleco?
I like all my plecos, but in my tank the L-403 Panaqolus sp. stands out. Such a friendly and fearless little guy. Likes to comes out to have a look what I'm doing whenever I put my hands into the tank.
There is a local hobby breeder in my hometown who likely sells them to my LFS. That's how I got this little oddity.
