Science News: Bagridae - Batasio tigrinus

Post by Silurus »

Synopsis by Shane Linder

The genus Batasio is reviewed and B. tigrinus is described in this very interesting paper. Four Indochinese Batasio are recognized: B. affinis, B. dayi, B. havmolleri, and B. tigrinus. B. havmolleri has been imported for the aquarium trade. The new species, B. tigrinus, is very attractive with its saddle-like tiger stripes. We can only hope it will be imported.
